Ana Taukolo

Ana Latu Taukolo is a dedicated and passionate Tongan-American organizer, advocate, and nonprofit leader committed to improving the life chances of youth, Pacific Islanders, and marginalized communities. With a decade of experience in Sacramento’s youth-serving organizations, she has led initiatives focused on civic engagement, leadership development, and cultural empowerment. Guided by her philosophy, "It's not about the hard work, it's about the HEART work," Ana grounds her organizing efforts in deep connection, core values, and collective purpose. She strives to teach others that true change happens when people lead from the heart, staying rooted in their values and community. The youngest daughter of Kapani and Meleane, who immigrated from Tonga in pursuit of better work and educational opportunities. Ana was born and raised on Miwok/Maidu land, known as Sacramento, CA where she continues to serve and empower others. She believes that change happens at the speed of trust and works to instill the heart work mentality in those she mentors and comes across. Ana has held key roles at the Alliance for Education Solutions and H.A.W.K. (Higher Attainment through Wisdom and Knowledge), where she has managed programs that uplift young people through mentorship, advocacy, and community-building. She is an active leader in the Sacramento Tongan community, spearheading relief efforts, cultural and church events, and youth leadership opportunities. Ana holds dual bachelor's degrees in Sociology and Multicultural & Gender Studies with an emphasis on Diversity from Chico State and is currently pursuing an MBA at Sacramento State, expected to graduate in the spring of 2026. Passionate about creating pathways to potential, she continues to advocate for systemic change and equitable opportunities for Pacific Islander youth.
